I'm taking my first psychology class this semester and we've already mentioned Immanuel Kant. This spread started out really really busy but I think I was able to tone it down enough. Please let me know what you think!
Here's my bread an butter, this is a spread that we would include into my school's lit mag. Designers get photos and text then create design elements around it. This was one of the first practice designs I did for the litmag last year. I was just learning InDesign and it was this spread that really got me interested in becoming a designer. I have not clue who the picture belongs to and all it is is place holder text, but doing this spread was really fun because I got the chance to tell a story with a piece of work just by how I placed it and what fonts I chose.
The top page would be on the left and the bottom on the right to make up an entire spread.

I know absolutely nothing about Perrotta, he was my quote of the day on good reads and I really loved it. I'm not too happy with the colors of this one, it's very very girly.
I got my schedule for senior year yesterday and it's a complete mess; It was between single blocking orchestra (which I've done since 6th grade) or drop newspaper (which I'm designer for). Locked classes make scheduling so much harder. But as a silver lining I'm going to be able to take some sort of technology art like animation.

I've never read this book but I hear it's amazing! I also love the cover art for it, this one was done completely in InDesign. I had a few more color's in this pallet but the simpler the better I say. A good tip is to keep fonts the same color all throughout a design (notice the ribbon font is always green), It makes things look very uniform and put together.

Hello everyone! July flew by and it's already August (I realized I had never designed with pink before so I gave it a try for this month's banner...might have gone a little over board).
In July I moved away from typography quotes a little and more toward Illustrator and Photoshop projects. If you'd like to see more typography please let me know in a comment below, otherwise it's full force toward illustrator projects!
August is a huge milestone, not because of any major holidays, but because it marks BACK TO SCHOOL! It seems way too early still but I'm excited to start senior year. Things are going to get pretty crazy around here but I'll do my best to keep up.
In other news I've gotten a job at Bath & Body works in my local mall. I'm really excited to get back to work after only blogging all this time but again time will be a challenge.
One final thing! Be sure to check out the new free printable calendar under my "Printables" tab up top. I really like how the August one turned out and wanna make sure you get to use it.
